Three (3) reasons to hate www.mirabilis.com

I use ICQ but it got setup as my homepage on my browser by mistake:

Reason #1: DOes anyone even use icq.com? Its frigging useless, so many links its like a crazy crappified-collage of links and garbage.

Reason #2: If you're surfing and you hit "home" on your browser by mistake you can't press the back button because icq.com steals you and keeps you there!

Reason #3: ICQ itself WTH are they gonna get out of beta? Lordy, ICQ isn't that complex a program and they've been in beta for God knows how long.

I hate that too, but you can always change your home page back to whatever you had originally. I use blank

ICQ forever...and ICQ doesn't steal sh!t from me 😉

I gurantee you that if you put up a poll, more people use ICQ than AOHell IM

I know most people use ICQ - and it is the best of all of these little messenger programs, but it would be even better if not for this...and there was a poll recently I can't remember what the results were though.

ICQ's homepage has been rated the worst design time and time again. You have to understand, the guys doing the site are not Americans.

I dealt with an Israeli web design firm a while back. It seems they like everything flashy and gaudy over there. It's just their style I guess.

I have to admit though, since AOL bought them out, the web site has been toned down quite a lot.

As for the beta status. I don't think they will ever go out of beta until they figure out how to make money with ICQ.

ok, icq sticks something in my favorites.. can i get rid of it? I should prolly look for a setting somewhere.

Problem w/ ICQ, way too bloated (ok, almost everything is anyway.. heh)

Problem w/ ICQ, AIM has a huge user base... all my friends are mostly AOL babies.. and use AIM. Switching over to ICQ.. blah, g/l to me trying to convince them.

If aim had a history feature, i wouldn't mind it too much.

But now w/ win2k, i can run both w/o much memory problem 🙂

When programs add themselves to IE faves, just hide them and the won't keep showing up after you *try* to delete them.

AOHELL Is starting to take over Icq and I'm not liking it. I think it's getting worse and worse. I thought programs where suppose to get better and better. It looks like they are following in Netscapes footsteps. Icq 2000 and Netscape 6 were both bad mistakes by the manufacturers.

I'd say I like ICQ more than AIM but AIM still serves it's purpose...it's not bad software. Been using ICQ for 4 years now :Q

when you keep a piece of software in "beta" you bassically are covering your ass.
Anything that goes wrong, and damage or data loss, is not your problem.
Anyone complains... its just a beta.

There's nothing wrong with releasing beta's for testing purposes. But when all you have, or most of what you have spends the majority of its time in the beta stage, that is a clear indication of a company that is unwilling to take responsibility for, and pride in, their work.

The next version of Counter-Strike is no longer called Beta 8.0.

Guess what it's called? You'll never guess
