I have three 19" monitors, right now I have two hooked up, is there a way I can add the third? I have a AGP - GF4 Ti4200.

Would it involve getting a PCI video card?

Would it cause any problems by putting a PCI video card?

I will post pics when I have it done ;)

Here are some options, GeForce FX 5200 PCI, Radeon 9200 SE PCI, or a Matrox G400 PCI. All are $75-100. There might be cheapr options though.

I am looking for <$50 , unless it would truly be worth having it.

Bestbuy has a ATI TV Wonder Tuner for $39 after MIR, but that is not really even a true video card, doesnt even have RCA!

RoninCS - What do you need all of those for?

Would this work? It would be even sweeter, since I could possibly hook up an additional two monitors, 3 x 19 1 x 17

Aside from being a certifiable computer geek, I have a close relationship with a few different vendors (AMD, intel, nVidia, ATi, Matrox, Falcon Northwest, Kingston, Dell, Alienware, etc), and on occassion, I get hardware from them. Along with that, I've been involved with computers for the last 15 years and I have a strong passion for them. Also, I happen to run the Compat Lab at a gaming company (which certainly doesn't hurt things). I have no less than 35 stand alone PCs, with another 14 in an AS400 rack that is used for gaming tournaments hosted by a gaming league in Arizona.

Short story is I play games for a living, and I have computers as a hobby. :) I may actually list what I have if I get the inkling, from top to bottom. :)

BTW, the link in my sig with the 3 monitors are 3 Dell P1130 21" monitors with a Parhelia 256MB (the triple headed card I spoke of).

Heh...just got the Inspiron 600m that I'd ordered. It's coupled with the Acer Travelmate 800 that I have. Both are 1.6GHz Centrino's, and I'm in love with them both. :) I'm tossing back and forth whether I should buy an Area 51 M (Sentia perhaps...Alienware's Centrino offering). My badboy is the Toshiba P25-S508 that I got last week. It's a P4HT 2.8GHz with a 17" LCD. I also have 2 other Inspirons and a Gateway to add to the mix, making the laptop total 6. :)

OK. I got a PCI video card, plugged it in, hooked up the monitor, turned on the computer, AND!!!! nothing on the third monitor, just sits there like the computer is off. Windows XP noticed and installed the card, but nothing.

I have a PNY GF4 Ti4200 AGP and a SiS(older) PCI card. Gigabyte- 7VAXP motherboard.

Device Manager says that the SiS "Device cannot start"

Any solutions

No wonder you're having problems. Older cheap and crappy video cards often aren't compatible with a multi-display configuration. Note that (in my experience) older ATI cards (which can be found cheaply) do tend to work well as a secondary card. :)

if you can make them all the same brand you'll have fewer driver issues.
good luck

Ok, There was a setting in BIOS to make the PCI Video card go first, then the AGP. I think the video card was bad as well so I traded it out with a DiamondMax, works fine.

However, my taskbar shrunk back to my primary monitor and I cant find the settings to get it stretch back across all the monitors. The monitor on the DiamondMax is at 1024x768 and my main two are at 1600x1200, could that have something to do with it?

Any help?

That could be it, but I don't know.

BTW, if you want 3D accelleration, you'll need the primary card set to AGP in the BIOS.
