Three 1080p 22" monitors or one 4k 28" monitor?

Hi guys, need some advise on what is the best option: Get three 1080p 22" monitors or one 4k 28" monitor? I am thinking gaming would be much better for a 3-monitor setup but then I am thinking one 4k monitor is also a good choice. I mainly do Autocad and Sketchup renderings and play casual games. However, I also like to experience how it is to play FPS and racing games on a three monitor setup and also maybe having multiple monitor would be more productive at work than one monitor?

Thanks in advance for any replies! 🙂

No real advice here, it's a matter of personal preference I think. I only want to say that AFAIK all 28" 4K monitors are TN panels. Probably won't matter much for Autocad, but after having PVA/MVA/IPS monitors for the past 7 years I would never buy another TN monitor.

Productivity wise, I think 3 monitors is a better bet... I think ultimately your usable space will be near equal between each option (likely you'll need at least 125% scaling on the 4K), the logical separation of tasks 3 monitors provides I think would prove beneficial (especially if you use snapping).

Gaming wise, the 4K will likely be the better experience due to no bezel separation.

In either case, I hope you have a budget for a nice video card 🙂

Thanks guys for the replies, I have just tried three 1080p and the gaming there is very immersive, I have a GTX 1070 graphics card. I might go for the single 4k screen but might consider buying one more monitor though if the budget allows.

i cant do autocad anymore on 1 monitor, must have 2
2 4k?
1k4 1 1080?

i game on 1 monitor and use the other for maps, seaching, ect

1 4k because 8,294,400 is better than 6,220,800

@mdram the solution is 2x4k. or maybe 5k. that's 14,7450,600. which is nice. not as many as 16,588,800, but definitely not peasant.

I would say, 38"-43" 4K UHD, and not a 28" 4K. Text is tiny enough on the 40" 4K UHD TVs I current have. (I use 100% scaling, no upscaling like some people prefer. In fact, I've used DSR/VSR to create a higher-than-UHD pseudo-resolution, and that's pretty good too. Basically, 5K on a 4K screen.)

I use 3 1080p monitors. I'd rather have a single 3440x1440 monitor instead because of how often I run into compatibility issues with 3x1080p.

huh, what compatibility issues? You put an image on each screen, that's it..
I can't do work with single screen anymore. At least two. I'd suggest 2x 24" 1080p if you can. 22" is small
