Does these thing expire if you dont use it after a while ? meaning it doesn't lock ? i tried it (blue medium strength) and it doesn't seem to want to lock... nut and bolt was still very loose... just curious.. thanks
 
you let it dry for a while? the stuff inside might separate and you might have to like massage the tube or whatever.
 
yeah, its a smart parts impulse feedneck.. the bottle is like 2 years old and used... i thought i give it a shot before buying a new one.. the other gun i had threadlocked was fine but that was 2 years ago when i first got the threadlocker

i applied it and let it dry for 1 week, kinda forgot about it till today.. did a small untwist and the thing just came right off.... attempting again.. will know in another week.. haha

That's not a good sign. That stuff sets up quick. I vote it's no good.

Why was the nut and bolt loose? You need to make the nut and bolt tight before the stuff hardens. It won't harden in the presence of oxygen.
 
Blue will break pretty easy, it's just supposed to keep the bolt from backing out. Red on the other hand should lock pretty hard.

No, it works in the lack of oxygen. Leave it out in an open room, it won't harden. Compress it between threads with 0.0001 inch of clearance, and it hardens.

Sorry, that hasn't been my experience. It will take longer with a blob, but it will harden.
BTW. I've also had the squeeze bottle harden if the caps are removed.

It's an anaerobic adhesive. It has a shelf life and should never be used beyond its expiration date.

We went thru cases of this stuff. The Loctite salesman always contributed to our Christmas party.
