I made a thred, now i can't seem to find it.

my guess would be that it was erased due to the fact that it had another members name in it.

is this the reason why?

I don't know what the context of your thread was, but if it was deleted, there was a reason for it I'm sure.

i know that much, and i have read the FAQ, but i am just trying to figure out what i did wrong. I wan't told in any way what i did wrong, so how can i make sure to not do it in the future?
 
It would be helpful if you provided information about the thread. Title would be helpful, content also would be helpful.
 
Do you see that little "Search" button up in the button bar near the top of every forum page? If you click on that, it will take you to another page, where you can type in your name into the user field, and select the appropriate date range, and select all of the forums (since perhaps the mods decided it didn't belong where you put it and moved it to another forum). Now, search using that information, and you should be able to find the thread.

sometimes mods delete threads, making that difficult 😛

True, but I made the (possibly bad) assumption that it wasn't a pr0n or warez thread. I must remember, when I assume, I make an ass out of u and me. 😉
 
the thread wan't a link to porn or warez

it was a true story, about my friend (who is an anandtech member) wo was at my house and called me flamebait in real life. i stated that my friend needed help, but as a joke, i clearly wasn't serious.

i used his anandtech name, but i didn't use his real name

porn or warez, sheesh.

I remember that thread. I think it was deleted due to some of the responses it gained. The thread became nothing but a nef thread. Not to mention the flaming.

No one cares about what you two do in your spare time. Just face it both of you pick up flamers and it's your pain in the ass not ours.
