I do not steal period. Get you pathetic lazy @ss out of your chair and get a job and pay for what you want. Maybe the welfare office isn't paying enough to buy games anymore, I don't know. But I do know that people who steal games are not welcome on any decent tech forum- ever.

I think what was said was unprovoked. Coming from someone with 1000+ posts I'd expect better.



We do not condone nor allow pirated software or warez. The buying, selling, trading of such is a bannable offense. Bragging about using priated/warez software or games will result in an immediate thread lock and possible vacation. Flaming, name calling and personal threats are, always have been and always will be a bannable offense.

Those who do not play nice, will be playing elsewhere.

My attacks were in response to him having problems with a game he pirated- he admitted to using warez.

Forgot to add- if flaming pirates is now a bannable offense please close my account forever. I want absolutely nothing to do with a forum that supports piracy in any way. I know that AT has never allowed warez comments in the past and I can't see that that would have changed given the level of respect this site has built over the years.
 
OK, I did NOT say "ban" I merely want an admin to review this.

Unless I am blind I see no admittance to warez. He could have simply been using burned discs. You don't know. I don't know. Unprovoked.

I wouldn't mind if your account was closed, as you show no respect to someone you don't even know.

Regardless, any discussion of warez does not (to my knowledge, at least should not) necessitate banning. Only a locking of the thread.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I think the 82.12's might've done it! I can play an entire three lap race, but the game gets stuck after I beat the race. The music is still playing and I can access Windows, so its no the same problem. Perhaps I should get a *ahem*retail version*ahem*.

That's VERY UNCLEAR. Again, maybe you're right, maybe it was Warez, but it could have easily been him using burned discs from a friend. I mean, hell, IEM isn't even retail....(I know HL2 doesn't come in OEM, but its a very good point)

Maybe a friend did for him, what I'm doing for a friend of mine: go into steam, hit backup games, burn the backup and unpack it on another computer with all settings saved, along with updates....that isn't retail.

Maybe I am wrong, but what you did was unprovoked and out of the conduct I expect to see from members of these forums.

If you had a problem you should have brought it to an admin's attention without all the insults.

Were you on any of my multiplayer servers I host from time to time, or ones I had admin powers in, I'd have banned you without a second look, and simply warned all others...and that isn't just me, I tend to be lax when I am the admin in charge.
 
I don't want either banned, both have contributed a great amount to the forums (with the exception of this argument), but just something to keep in mind, people don't like discussion of w***z here (also against the rules IIRC) and have an intense opinion of people who do it. Hopefully the fights can be avoided in the future.
 
Jeez....no, I'm no lawyer...I'd sooner cut off my right hand than be that (at least the lawyer you mean...real estate lawyers are usually benign.)

Again, could have been a backup or a copy of the 5 HL2 CDs from a friend. I'm not saying its that, I'm not saying anything as to whether it is or is not warez. I'm making the point that what Skywalker did was out of line.

I have not encountered him before (or he has not stood out like this before) so I cannot say if this is a rarity. I hope it is.

Either way, he went about this the wrong way, throwing insults about. He had no justification for screaming stuff about welfare and whatnot. I am currently working my arse off to get a comp engr degree, and if someone were to say I were on welfare after working so hard, I'd be a little more than pissed.

If I were to have diarrhea of the mouth like Skywalker did, I'd be saying some pretty nasty things at times.

Liberally throwing around insults is a matter of course for that poster, and it's gotten him elite status... what are you hoping for by asking the mods to review that post, a special title for him as well? His initials tell the real story, I'd leave it at that.

Seems kinda contradictory. Even if BenSkywalker instigated it, you shouldn't have resorted to the personal attacks, should have just ignored it.

Slipping up and talking about a warez'd copy of a game isn't too bright on a forum used by enthusiasts that happen to work for game developers isn't too bright. To get pissed because you get flamed about it is just stupid...defending it no different.

Perhaps if you feel a strong opinion like that, share it and then shut the fvck up. Skywalker's comments were uncalled for by any standards, I did nothing to that asshole. I never disagreed with what Skywalker said. I just get really irritated by people who think they're so much fvcking better than everyone else.

I live in southwest New Hampshire about fifteen minutes from Mass or VT- I will gladly drive any reasonable distance so we can discuss this face to face. I find that that tends to work best in manners such as this.
