Thoughts on working for a small company......

I just got a call for an interview with a small local telecommunications company. I am not familiar with working for small companies and was wondering how it differs from a large corporation. Any benefits or negatives that you can think of.

It's easier to get to "know" the boss's daughter in a small company. :thumbsup:

advantages:

- less red tape
- ability to influence the company's success
- typically more casual work environment
- typically no or little travel involved
- raises based on merit

disadvantages:
- possibility of getting micro-managed
- smaller company means less chance of getting promotions
- smaller companies typically bring in less money, so probably less benefits and pay
- not getting along with someone has a bigger impact
