Thoughts on this PSU?

Get a forton 450w. $50 🙂
I already bought this one though, and it only cost me $30. I'm going to upgrade in the future, but would this be okay for now?

Great.

Another question: how many ide connections will this have? I'm going to have 1 dvd/cd burner and 4 hard drives. Would this be sufficient?

The newegg reviews all mention a crapton of cables/connectors as Cons, so I think you will be set. 🙂

If not a splitter is only a few bucks, if you don't have one laying around even.

You mentioned upgrade, how much of an upgrade do you plan on doing, assuming you're still going to use that Thermaltake PSU?

Upgrades in the future would probably consist of: an upgrade to a dual core s939 if they're out, more RAM, more HDDs, more fans and a better graphics card. (Hopefully totalling to ~$400 or so)

chuckle

Anyways, Fortron, Seasonic or PCP&P (only the last if youre rich) are the best
For the biggest ePenis, and infinite upgradability into the forseeable future, look at the PCP&P 1000W

Realistically, get a 600W seasonic or 500W fortron

TT PSUs (mostly made by Sirtec) are generally decent and prettier than most Fortrons. But I'd still buy an equivalent Fortron, Silverstone (made by Enhance) or XClio (made by Channel Well) first.

.bh.

Totally unnecesary in his case for his current build. When you do upgrade, get the 500w Bluestorm or the 520w powerstream and you'll be sent. Good luck. I have the 500w FSP Blue storm and I love it.
