I was asked by a family member if I had any thoughts on this laptop from Costco.

Problem is I don't follow laptops...at all.

Does anyone have any thoughts on whether or not it's a decent deal (for a photoshopper), any pro's/con's that stand out, or suggestions for something else?

It seems pretty good. I don't live in the US so I don't know exactly how this price compares to others that may be available, but it seems pretty decent when you convert it to NZD.

I think it is "normal" deal for HP. (especially, only 1280X800 resolution)
There are many choices for the price you willing to spend on i5-430M w/ Intel 4500MHD.
If you are a "photoshopper", you might want a bigger screen?
Take Tigerdirect Acer Aspire AS7740-6656 17.3" for example can be had for $614 ( after 12.3% bing cashback )

I generally don't find Costco's PC price that much of "discount", unless, you got your annual credit from Costco that you must spend it there.

Ok, given HP's crappy laptop history, this one's out, and we're going i7-720qm processor instead as well.

We're sticking to Asus/toshiba/sony...may settle for a dell if can't find the right specs/size from the others.

Thanks for the feedback.
