Thoughts on this foxbody

I like it! Given i know nothing about stangs or american muscle. I've only seen them go down the 1/4 mile REALLY quick.

Look underneath the car under the driver's seat for a cracked floorpan. This happened on my '83 back in the day, and I heard it was due to body flex given the lack of subframe connectors. Not sure if they ever fixed the issue in later years, but I remember it being an issue back then.

Also, get more details on the engine mods. GT40 heads? Great... Were the heads bare or fully assembled when they were installed? Does it have the stock camshaft? If not, did he install the proper valve springs to match the new cam? You'll probably want a compression or leakdown test done on the engine.

I have stopped buying other people's project cars.

In my experience, with stuff like this you end up buying a supposedly great car with 1 or 2 niggling issues for $4k then end up having to dump $8k into it just to end up with an $8k car you've got $12k in. Alternatively you can buy a good stock runner with known history for ~$6k and avoid the headache.

To me, the engine work combined with interior LED lights would probably make me pass but as you know I'm incredibly picky with stuff like this. I would personally want to find a good muscle shop to look over it before even considering the purchase.

Or if you know what you are buying and can turn a wrench yourself, you can potentially save thousands and get "free mods".

I love the Fox Body Mustang...they are my second favorite body style 😉

I ended up buying it. He and his wife are mustang enthusiasts and this was her DD for the last 2 years. Have put about 60 miles on it so far. Its got a 94 cobra motor with 30000 miles on it, all new radiator, shift kit, 3.73 rear end, trunk mounted optima battery, full exhaust, cold air intake. Probably 250ish horsepower. Not a speed demon but a fun little toy.
Here's the motor.

cool car oilfield!

If you want to really pep up that interior look for complete reskin or maybe a full cover kit. A friend of ours had an interior in worse shape than yours. He spent 1500 getting everything covered in fake leather. Looked ok. Would have been 3k for alcantera.

Thanks.

That craigslist ad makes the interior look worse than it really is. I don't know why they decided to feature the torn drivers seat? All the rest of the seats are in good shape and the headliner is snug, dash looks good, etc.. I'm just driving it. Whatever it needs to be driveable I'll do but that's it. I might see what a shop would charge just to redo the cloth on drivers side.

If its just that seat throw some covers on the front and your good to go. Car-part.com had a bunch of cloth seats for 200 bucks ish last I looked.

When you get it all cleaned up and purdy take some sexy shots for us!

Well that was short lived. 🙁

What's the car worth to someone in its current state? Motor, trans, rear end still good. Air bag busted my face..

I understand what the body style that you folks are calling a foxbody

But how did such a label come about?

Glad you'll be ok dont let that pony kick you fix it and then take it.to a autox school to help you learn to controll it! It is fixable suspension front end work and an airbag. Let see your reign.with a fox body last a bit longer

Crap! Bad luck, man! Hope you and everyone else is OK.

Hoping to hear a funny story that doesn't involve anyone getting hurt...

That has to be record time on ending a car purchase though!
