Thoughts on the LG's G Watch R?

So I have been craving a smartwatch all year because I want some Google Now on my wrist, and the LG's G Watch R looks like one of the first ones to really stand out. I like its sportswatch styling and the fact its a full round screen unlike the Moto 360. I don't like that many Android Wear apps aren't made for a round screen. Makes me think about just getting the old G Watch for cheaper.

What is everyone's thoughts? If you were buying a smartwatch right now, what would you get?

The Watch R only looks okay when its sporting a watch face. When you see it with Android Wear stuff displayed the bezel and numbered ring around the display look bad and completely out of place IMO. Also the bezel/ring is raised up quite a bit from the display, which reminds me of older smartphones.

I'd still get the Moto 360. It actually looks like a modern smartwatch. The Watch R looks like a blown up 90's sports watch.

I agree with everything he said. It definitely has a nice styling, but the numbered ring kills it for me. That seems so completely useless and out of place.

The 360 is just elegant and so simple, yet so great. I hope someone gets me it for Christmas if they can find a solid deal!

The first two posts are basically what has been in my head (except the old G Watch, I'm not interested in that).

I think I'd just wait for the next generation of this. I'm not in a rush. Moto 360 v2 would be awesome.

I too am torn between the LG and the 360. I like the sporty look of the LG but like the elegant look of the 360.

I got the 360 and I like it quite a bit. Nothing bad to say about it so far except the heart rate sensor is kind iffy, but whatever, I don't really use that part. It works, just not when I am sweaty which is typically when I would want it to check it :/

I also didn't like the overall look of the LG, which is why I went with the 360.

This. I think a current gen smartwatch is something you'll probably regret by next refresh. None of them look very good.
