Hey there all!

For those of you using Tapatalk on your mobile device to visit the forum, we'd like to get your input on your experience.

A few questions-

Why do you prefer using Tapatalk? Does it improve your ability to review forum threads as opposed to the Desktop version of the forum? Is there anything you specifically hate or love about the app? Any suggestions for improvement?

For those of you not using it on your mobile device, what are your reasons for not doing so?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts, guys. :)

Does that splashscreen telling me tapatalk is available coming up every once in awhile count? If it does, add that to the 'hate' category. If not, ignore.

Not just this forum, but any forum i'm on -- i like the format to stay consistent between desktop and mobile, it just makes reading and navigating easier/faster because i know exactly where to look and what to click. (that's why that slow loading top ad is such an annoyance -- it throws off the clicking reflex :whiste: )

I freaking hate Tapatalk. 50% of the time it gives an error "an error has occurred, please contact the administrator of the website". Also lots of times it double posts, crashes, does not respond, etc. Freaking piece of junk. But since there is no other app that does it better, i keep using it. Mobile sites are good but only Tapatalk gives the convenience of having all your favorite forums in one place.

I use tapatalk because it's much easier than browsing the forum via web page Just logging in through the web page is a chore to get everything to line up. Tapatalk ticks me off though, because if for some reason I'm not logged on when it notifies me of a reply, it takes me to the login page, then the home page. So I don't actually get to the the thread that was replied on...

I use tapatalk. It's frickin' awesome. Primary reasons I use it are:
1 - no ads on any forum that I visit
2 - extremely fast loading
3 - easy to respond and attach images
4 - timeline view is so nice. I'm not isolated to only a single subforum

Things I hate
1 - can't search AT forums, but that is an issue with this forum and not the app.
2 - sometimes pictures don't come through (i'd say 5% of the time).

I was a very early adopter to tapatalk. I believe I even bugged the previous administration to implement it. I loved having an app to browse forums.

But then every forum started paring with different forum apps (forum runner and the like), so I started not being able to browse all my forums in one app. I dealt with it until AT didn't update their plug in for a very long time and all the useful features went away. Now I browse from my mobile device.

The pros of tapatalk were:
easily see threads I had posted in. I normally have a few threads I actively post in and it was great having a list of those. This stopped working with the plug in problem.

Posting pictures from my phone was so easy. Now it's a 4 step process and really isn't worth the effort.

The search was awesome. Way better than the forum search.

The cons were:
plug in issues on the server side
tapatalk app itself can be buggy. You have to clear your cache often and deal with random crashes.

As a mobile device junkie, I'd much prefer a decent mobile website. If there is a way to make pic uploading easy, that's great. But just a mobile friendly site without the top ad that made me have to try 5 times to get in this thread.

If you are going to use tapatalk, fully support it. The plug in has to be kept up to date or its just pointless. Your security guys will need to be on top of things because of the vulnerability that tapatalk brings. Basically either do it right or just don't do it.

And fix the top ad.

I used to love it, but it has broke all GIFs since the last version was released. I've deleted and reinstalled several times to no avail. On iOS 8.3 here.

Tapatalk is useful for following different forums.. it keeps everything well organized and gives easy access.
I also like the black background-white text functionality which saves battery on my phone.

BTW i cannot access new VGA subforums in tapatalk following the recent change.

Tapatalk is a million times better that the mobile site except when I am not on wifi, as it seems to use a bit more data than the mobile site. Other than that, it's perfect!

Today is a perfect example of why continuing to support tapatalk is a good idea.

Can't use my web browser because of borked code. Tapatalk is still running along just fine.
