Thoughts on DVDRW?

Hey there guys. I am building a new system and I only have room for 1 5.25" drive. I want to be able to read and burn CDs and be able to watch DVDs with it. I found a really shweeeet drive on newegg.com. It is a CD-DVD-RW. It has the ability to read and write CDs and read and write DVDs. Price really isn't an object here. I was wondering what the current state of DVDRW is. I hear theres no "standard" format for it yet. Would you guys sugest paying for one or should I just get a CDRW drive?

There is not set standard as of yet. I went with DVD+RW for price and need to burn some DVD's. As long as most of hardware will play them, I am fine with it. There are some combo CDRW/DVD-ROM drives available. I know Cendyne makes one.

You might want to hold off if you are worried about this, or you could get the new Sony 4x DVD burner that does both +R and -R. Can't miss there, especially if money is not a concern.

Well price maybe an option at one point. I work for a case mod site now and I am pitching a project. We will prolly get the equipment from our sponsors.
