Poor Zelda. :(

It's going to bomb horribly. After seeing the success of Metroid Prime in realistic modern awesome graphics, they should just can Zelda and redo it.

I was disappointed as well...until I saw the commercials that are running in Japan. This thing is going to sell incredibly well.

If you watch the commercials (can get them at C&VG)

Awesome looking.

Zelda will play really fun for sure, but why oh why did they change it to cel shaded? The series was moving towards such a surrealistic and life-like graphic style, and then they throw all that to the wind and jump on the cel shading band wagon?? Blasphemy! Or however you spell it!

I think just about everybody was dissapointed when Celda was announced, but Nintendo always seems to come through... Also I think the biggest problem people have with Cel shading is that they think it makes it look to "kiddie" when a cel shaded game could be as gory or violent as any other game. Think about it, all your old comic books stuffed in your closet. Those would make some rad lookin' videogames.

as angry as i am about the decision to make zelda a cel-shaded game, i have to admit that compared to other cel-shaded games in development, it looks stunning. even compared to some non-cel games it looks pretty good in its own right.

Its has nothing to do with "kiddie" for me. It dosent really seem like a "game" when Im playing, I guess is how I would explain it. Its not attractive to me. When I see good graphics I say "WOW". When I see cel shading it isnt attractive so there is no "WOW" factor. It takes me out of the game completly.

I'm not a fan of cel shading but that looks pretty damn cool:Q! Ive never played JSRF, but Friday when I buy my Xbox I'll check it out. It better look cool. I don't like the FPS or racing look though. It just doesn't fit.

Lets see you build a computer for that much...
FreAk:D

I could build a decent computer for under $1000, and then i'd be able to do all kinds of things, not to mention download as many games as I can find for free... And for a little over $200, you'd be stuck with one crappy game and no tv while you play. That sucks!

I think the majority of the people on this forum can get(not necessarily build)a comp for less than $1000.00, you aint special:) And I'm one of those innovators who had a TV already so I could watch... TV! I have a DVD player that I use all the time even though thats all it does, my comp has one and a TV output but watching it sux compared to the stand alone. Computers are great but not everything to everybody. Sorry if you dont like my opinion, not...

i should also mention the thing i like about the new zelda is that it seems completely immersive. in games like XIII, i see that almost the whole level doesnt look cel-shaded, and the only cel things (which are the characters and weapons) have black lines around them, like in cartoons. in zelda, the whole world looks cel-shaded, and there are no black lines, yet it still looks very good.
