EXCellR8, I don't want to make you feel worse than you already do about the cable problem, but the Dell supplied cables are all long enough and appear to be quality cables. Why the heck would Acer seem to "cheap out" on cable for a truly premium monitor:'(

I think its a bandwidth thing regarding the cable. I expect the cables are operating at the ragged edge of their bandwidth capabilities with these high res, high refresh rate displays. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I think that's why you are able to have a longer cable come with the Dell monitor as a standard offering. The dell is 60hz so the bandwidth requirements of any cable would be much less.

So I've probably dropped an extra $50 on just cables for this thing, but at least it's working now. The 6.6' DP cable did the trick and now I am not getting blackouts. Looks incredible.

Glad that worked. I've been looking for a 6ft cable to replace the 3ft cable supplied with my Acer XB270HU. The Accell brand of cable is what I'd identified as the best option. Is that what you're using now? All other cables had user complaints about problems at high Hz, and my old Dell 6ft DP cable doesn't work either.

The cable that works is the Accell UltraAV B142C-007B-2 DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 Cable I got off amazon.

What a pain though, I also ordered 2 other DP cables but 6ft didn't quite reach. I ordered a pair of 26 AWG high speed HDMI cables as well but those probably wont work. The throughput on the DP cables is much higher.
