I haven't thought about it this way and there might be something to his words. Maybe they don't like that AIs will probably treat all humans equally because we all are human trash to them. IDK

I think this hysteria over AI becoming sentient is absolute horse manure. GIGO. AI programs can only simulate sentience. They can get closer and closer to appearing to be sentient, but the idea of a leap to independence is ridiculous. Afraid they'll take over? Hit the circuit breaker! Buh bye!

For whatever it's worth, most humans seem to only be able to simulate sentience, too.

I'm not concerned until they give it a factory to run, even something that simulates sentience can run amok given its own supply chain and production capacity.

I don’t think the problem lies with sentience. I can’t envision sentience as separate from love of being. The problem I can see is the possibility that intelligence, not sentience, being manipulated artificially, as everything is, by the human by the human disease of greed that flows out of the neediness created by self hate.

The manipulation of an unaware but intelligent machine directed to a goal by programming the reward it receives as in accordance with sick ego need or even naively conceived positive goals Is more the worry I see.

I think it more likely that the universe we see is perhaps already sentient with us as the maladaptive intelligences attempting to augment our own shallow aims with machines motivated similarly as we are by our own self hate.

Seems to me like the point of the link was to suggest that elite fantasies of world catastrophe is what is generating fantasies that produce the illusion there is some technological means of escape when in fact the point is to become more in touch with reality in a way that denies the festering of such fears i.e. being here now with sound social integration. Folk of that ilk don't have unconscious fears they are unconsciously driven to manifest. We create what we fear.

The only cure for fear is facing it with conscious awareness. Otherwise we live with an unconscious death wish.

Fear creates the motivation to sleep. Conservative thinking is created by stress, imaginary thinking, being out of touch with reality, the beauty that is when on also is. What people call reality is the illusions caused by fear.

I like the story of kids (Gen Z) born into this social media hellscape actually using flip phones instead of smart phones.
Even kids can see this shit is not healthy and some of them have coping mechanisms to do just that. To "be real".

I found that kind of amusing. It's a slap in the face of generational haters, anybody not my age is worthless for bigoted reasons. I liked it too.
