Thought I'd share my big hardware purchase - Canon Pixma 1500 Printer

Just bought a printer online.

I feel good about the purchase - Canon Pixma 1500.

Bought it cause I could not afford a laser and I needed a cheap black and white printer.

Thanks for listening - 50$ is a major purchase for me

i had to get another inkjet/color
walmart had an HP for $28

of course , the starter cartridge is half gone after printing a dozen pages :frown:

i like my laser so much better

It's sad when the printer is cheaper than the color + black ink cartridges combined.

Supposedly the page yield on this canon is about 500 pages b&w at normal coverage for one cartridge you can pick up for 4.50$ online. . .

That was my major reason for picking it up.

I had a lexmark z45 that I'd printed to death. I was an expert cartridge refiller, probably refilled 4 different cartridge 40 times. . . haha

Yep those starter cartridges will KILL you... They ought to not even bother including those freaking things. And what's up with them sending you a usb printer and not including a freaking cable??? Nothing ticks me off more than that. It has got to cost manufacturers less than a dollar to throw that in! I have a bunch of them around, but nobody else I know does, and then they are always calling me for help or assuming that the manufacturer left the thing out of the box

I do have the Canon F20 or something... All in one printer/copier/scanner deal. The cartridges are kinda small, but they are cheap as hell. I think online the black is about $4 and color is about $8. Seems like they do me just fine, but I use the laser for most printing, and just use that for printing pics and color stuff.
