...I believe that everyone has the right to their own religion be you Hindu, Jewish, or Muslim. I believe there are infinite paths to accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

Stephen Colbert FTW

Just that Jesus Christ only exists in Christianity... and how can you accept him as your savior if you're jewish...

There's some religion (universalism, IIRC) that believes that any religion will get you to heaven. Dunno what it has to do with Jesus though.

It's a reference to something that you probably didn't see....Colbert's "meet the press" thing from a while ago.

Over your head dude. It was in Colbert's speech at the White House Correspondants' Association Dinner.

Jesus is one of the Prophets of the Islam. Jews are only a tiny minority religion compared to those two, so convincing Hindus would be the real challenge :p

I thought hindus were the ones that believed that all other gods were just manifestations of theirs? Maybe I'm an idiot.

If I'm right, then that's most of the non atheists on earth right there.

Um, actually, his life is well documented in history. Accepting whether he was god or not is the part that's based on faith.

Anyway, I love how the OP's quote talks about how Hindus, Jews, and Muslims would ever possibly accept Christ as the divine son of god

This Stephen Colbert must be a real winner.

Mayor Nagin! Mayor Nagin is here from New Orleans, the chocolate city! Yeah, give it up. Mayor Nagin, I'd like to welcome you to Washington, D.C., the chocolate city with a marshmallow center. And a graham cracker crust of corruption. It's a Mallomar, I guess is what I'm describing, a seasonal cookie.

LOL

How does this thread go from Colbert (<3)..to a religion debate?

But as much as I love him...why does he always have to cut off his guests when they talk? He must've interrupted Madeleine Albright last night at least 5 times in their short 10 minute interview. Gahh..let the woman speak, Stephen!

I keep on hearing Phil Ken Sebben and Myron Reducto whenever he speaks. :)
