hey guys,

I hate having cables that are ridiculously too long but then again they can't be too short or it obviously won't work. I haven't seen a Tsunami in person yet so I really can't guess how big they are.

I need:

floppy cable
2 IDE cables
1 sata cable

I need to know what lengths will work. I was going to buy all 10" cables but I think it could end up being too short on the IDE cables, not sure

mobo will be abit AV8 if that matters

thanks

I have a Tsunami with an Asus A8V board. I like to mount the drives and then connect the cabling. You will need:
floppy: 10" is good
IDE: 12" (if you use the top 5" bay this will be a tight fit)
SATA: 10"

If you use longer cables you can fold and tie the excess to the inside of the 5" bay cage.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like all standard length cables will work just fine (might need to tuck/manage them some). I've never used longer than 18" IDE cables and [so far] standard length SATA cables have worked just fine.

If you want to get shorter cables, get the case, mobo and such, put it to gether and figure out what the shortest cable lengths you 'll be able to get away with.

BTW, how many drives are you putting on the IDE cables?

you can probly go with 6" uv sata data cables for the hdd unless your mobo is weird like my cousins neo 2 plat where u would rather use sata 3 and 4 port they are way to the end by the rear chassis fan. 18" rounded cable works i bought both 18 and 24 i used the 18 the floppy i got a 10" and that works fine. we pulled all the audio stuff thta hangs down from the top of the case out ill never use that crap u might i also bought some hardrive spacers and put my drives up in the 5" bays i pulled the hd cage out and busted that sea out and put my black ice extreme radiator at the front. also i got a cold cathode kit that came with a round toggle switch open ur front doors and near the bottom is a square hole i dremeled that round to fit the switch perfect. wire all ur fans up first behind everything u can hide alot of wires behind the mobo and behind the optical drive case there is about a 1/4" gap u can fish stuff thru. i put my dander den fillport up top where i removed the audio stuff an covered the other holes with stickers so i dont accidentally spill into the case on refills also had to dremel this but its nice i pick the case up and fill :)
its kinda cramped if u havnt bought it already i suggest going with the new thermaltake shark instead

akira,

The only drives that will be on the IDE cables are my two DVD burner/readers. I am going to use two seperate cables I think for them.

The HD will be SATA and then the floppy.
