Just wondering what everyone is running out there. Wife wants a P180 gaming machine, and I haven't done normal machines in a while. Yes, this is just to help me out. Doubt it will work, but it's worth a try.

EDIT: I've been researching mobos for the A64, and holy crap they have problems all over the place it seems, atleast according to the reviews. That is crazy. I'm very interested in seeing what CPU coolers people are using. (On my machine, I have a choice of about 2 or 3, as opposed to the, what, 50 for the A64? )

See specs in sig. I really do like my P180, but I had a weird problem with it, well not really with it, but my HDD didn't seem to like the vertical/lower HD Drive bays. It started making fairly loud noises when the heads were searching the platters. So I moved it back up to the upper chamber's horizontal HDD bays and it is working better now. I think I am going to have to RMA it, because even in the lower HDD bay it shouldn't have been doing that. *shrugs* But at least it is safe for the time being. *corsses fingers*

Sorry about hijacking thread.

After 1 month experience I can say that Antec P180 is a very good case, rigid and has an excellent adjustable ventilation and is almost noiseless when necessary. Not perhaps the easiest for installing add-ons and cables, though.

My system is:
Case: Antec P180 (4x120mm low-noise case fans, adj. speeds)
PSU: Antec TrueControl550PEC
MB: Asus A8N-E v2
CPU: AMD64 X2 3800+ Manchester core
CPU-cooler: Zalman CNPS-7700Cu
Memory: Twinmos PC3200 4x512MB, 2.5-3-3-8
HD: 2xDiamondMax10 250GB SATA RAID0
LG GSA-4167B DVD-writer
GPU: Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/3400PCX (7800GT)
Display: 19" Samsung SyncMaster 940B, 8ms response time
Logitech Cordless Desktop® MX? 3100

I have overclocked both the CPU and GPU (CPU 2450 MHz;GPU 462/1127 MHz). Memory timings are 2-3-3-7. I have removed the plastic ventilation duct for GPU, no adv. of it in cooling of GPU with additional 80 mm fan (closed the case opening for the duct), vice versa, disturbed airflow inside the case, temps lower now without it. I have had no problems whatsoever with this case. After 12 hours of heavy continuous use, mostly gaming and benchmarking, temps stay under control (MB: 35C, CPU < 50C, GPU < 60C with medium setting for cooling fans) and system is rock solid stable.

2x80GB Maxtors RAID0
Audigy2 ZS
Plextor 716SA
2x120mm UV Blue fans
2x120mm LED Blue fans
Zalman ZM-MFC1 Fan controller

I've had mostly everything since last december except a few fans and the P180... no problems at all. All I've had to do was replace the chipset fan on the A8N because it's garbage.

Wiring the P180 isn't hard, it just takes time like wiring any case. See my sig for what I've got.

My P180

EDIT: The mobo is an Epox something-or-other that I hate (no C/Q if you populate 2 dimms wtf? it overvolts the proc by .05 volts and ddr400 isn't even supported officially if you have 2 dimms it works though if you crank the ram voltage up)

Mines in the sig.

I love my P180, The only sound I hear is that dang fan on my 7800, but that will change soon enough.
My temps right now are...
CPU: 38C/100F
System: 36C/96F
Video Card: 46C/113F

Right in range of the temps I get with the fans are on low and at idle.

I like the DFI's, but the wife would like to have a "blue" motherboard, although she will settle with a yellow if she has to. And the P180 isn't going to have a window. "I just like blue". Yeehah.

This is what I'm looking at as of right now. And I still have to pick a power supply. Forgot about that. Seems like most people are using the OCZ 520W Modstream, so I'll have to check that out...
$115 Antec P180
$269 AMD Athlong 64 3700+, San Diego core
$117 DFI LanParty nF4-D
$252 Corsair XMS 2GB (2x1gb) PC3200 DDR
$101 Western Digital 250gb SATA hd, WD2500SJ
$379 BFG Tech 7800 GT, 256mb, PCIe

The modstream will require an extenstion cable for the main ATX connector, so you might want to look elsewhere for a PSU.
