Those who own X1900XT and an E6400. A question or two.

How well does it play Oblivion? How does it do with DOD:S and CS:S? Or source games in general?

Oh sorry. I should have been more specific. I know it will do fine, just wondering what FPS poeple were getting. I'll be running for the moment at 12x10 with AA/AF maxed. but I'll take whatever results anyone gets with this combo in any resolution.

I am playing Oblivion utterly maxed at 1440x900 with the system in my signature, that includes HDR & 6xAA/16xAF. Not sure of exact framerates but there's no stutter and the video is at least giving the impression of near-total smoothness.

Update: I just went to play on Oblivion for a bit and made a mental note for you that I was getting ~40fps at an Oblivion gate. That game is so much easier to play with Core 2 Duo.

i don't know if you know the map de_contra but in a scrim (5 v 5) someone was getting 600fps sitting in t spawn.

i hope that answers your question

this was with an E6400, not sure what GPU he was using, but it wouldn't matter because even an x800 can run source max'd without much of a hit to fps.

I don't have a E6400 but a x1900XT can play any setting you want in CSS.

I have an E6600 and an X1900XTX, and I get 120+ FPS in CSS at 1600 x 1200, full settings - everything maxed.

are you playing in 32 man public server on nuke/inferno?

i get close to those frames with a 7900gt and 3200+ on dust 2 in scrims

1600x1200 with all the eye candy on. E6600 with X1900XT (BIOS moddified to X1900XTX however) user here. You're going to be GPU limited with any of the C2D CPUs.

I never really check because its always smooth, but I belive 80+ with
1920x1200 4XAA 16X AF.
