Those weird regrets...

I've been on watercooling for a little over half a year now, and it's been running great. But I do have my regrets. First and foremost would be the maintanence(sp?)...I recently did my 6-month water change and well, I wasn't too pumped to do it. It really took some mental work to pick myself up and drain and fill the water. Maybe I'm just lazy? But it felt great after I did it, fresh water running through the system and I don't have to worry about it until next summer.

But another one of those regrets is the plain old fact that I gave up air cooling for this. I remember back in the day, I'd fiddle around with my little home made ducts and I was always coming up with new ducting ideas, fan setups, etc. Now I've got this watercooling that runs great but I can't really...play around with it. I really miss those days. Every time I see a new a heatsink on the web I look at my case and think of a good way to duct it to exhaust...those days are long gone...brings a tear to my eye...

Oh well. All's well, the water keeps my comp ice cold, and it was definately worth it. Just my thoughts!

:beer:Cheers!

I feel yah. Watercooling is a hassle but its definitely worth it when you see the temps
I was the same you with air. making home made ducts out of cardboard, moving fans around or taking some out to quiet things down.

I still mess with those things, just on my friends computers aren't that hardcore as i am about cooling and overclocking.

I'm with you guys. Watercooling is great but the overclocking potential didn't go up THAT much from the XP-120 I was using. Temps are much better now but it's such a hassle sometimes to get to anything in my case that sometimes I miss simple aircooling. I'm trying to get the gumption up just to flash the bios on my cards becasue to do so means removing one while the other is being flashed which means a huge headache.

It is fun to mess with watercooling but sometimes I miss the simplicity of aircooling.

Weird regrets... I miss programming in Glide. And I miss 3DFX. :) So I kind of know what you mean there. Alas, I can never get mine back though.
