$150 difference between the 32" and the 37"

Looks like many of you have the 37". Worth the difference? Keep in mind that this is a bedroom tv in an average size bedroom

if you can afford the $150 get the bigger one.

I would base the decision on viewing distance rather than cost savings. The resolution on 32" and 37" is usually the same. If you sit too close to a 37" 1366 x 768 LCD, it might look pretty crappy.

considering 90% of all computer monitors are still 1024x768, I doubt a higher resolution will look crappy.

That changed 2 years ago because of people returning laptops, TV's, cameras, etc. years later.

AT has failed me.

I'm surprised no one caught my error, the return policy was amended recently for electronics and computers. I think originally it was lifetime return policy then changed to 6 months then 3 months? If I had more time I could research it and find a more accurate answer.

I was confusing the eBay/Paypal change made around 2 years ago.

I just got a 42" Vizio LCD for about $1050

Ive got no complaints at all after about 2 months of ownership. I'd say the picture is as good or better than most other LCD's at twice the price.

Thank you. I thought that was obvious, but apparently not.

I bought that same one a couple weeks ago and love it. I bought it just for HALO3. I actually got mine at Sears, 10% off with my Sears card.

My wife uses a 32" 1366x768 as a monitor. I use a 37" 1080P. Neither of us have issues sitting close to the monitors and as there is only a 5" discrepancy between the 37" vizio it shouldn't be an issue.

I'm looking at getting a 42" LCD from Vizio as well. Either that or the 47. Glad to hear everyone seems to like them.

I had a 37" Vizio LCD, the only reason I don't have it anymore is because I found a 42" Vizio plasma for $650, so now I have the plasma.

Great picture, yes I can tell the difference between a samsung lcd and the vizio I had but not enough to justify the price difference.

I have been very pleased with the Vizio brand as a whole.

Next up, Vizio HDTVs. Here is what appears on its website, with bold added by the HD Guru.

?Service Labor
During the one (1) year warranty period, VIZIO will provide, when needed, service labor to repair a manufacturing defect at its designated service center. To obtain warranty service in the United States, you must first contact VIZIO Technical Support via email at techsupport@VIZIO.com or via phone at (949) 428-2525. The determination of service will be made by VIZIO. PLEASE DO NOT RETURN YOUR UNIT TO VIZIO WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION.

Service
During the one (1) year warranty period, VIZIO will, at its option and sole discretion, repair or replace defective parts, which may be new or remanufactured, including replacement of the entire unit. The Customer will be required to ship the product to the service center indicated by VIZIO when the return authorization is provided. The Customer is responsible for all transportation charges to the service center. VIZIO is not responsible for the de-installation or re-installation of the product.

Packaging and Shipping Instruction
When shipping the product to an authorized VIZIO service facility, the original carton box and packing material, or an equivalent as designated by VIZIO, must be utilized.?

According to Vizio, all TVs 37? and larger must go by truck to California. Fed Ex Ground from NY to Vizio in Irvine, CA is $88.95 for its 42? LCD TV and $108.95 for its 50? plasma. You threw out the TVs packing carton? If you are in the warranty period, it?s no problem, Vizio will ship you a new cardboard box at no charge (according to its CS rep).

If the Vizio flat screen breaks after the one-year warranty expires is where it gets expensive. The prices are shocking.

For any Visio 42? LCD, the carton and packing material with shipping is $300. Its out of warranty service is at a ?Flat Rate? of $300 parts + $140 labor. Outbound shipping (FED EX ground) to Vizio cost $89. For return freight, Vizio charges $250 bringing the total cost of an out of warranty repair cost a staggering $1079. The current cost of a new Visio 42? LCD at Circuit City is $1099. Think of it, twenty bucks more and you get a brand new disposable TV with a new one-year warranty. What a deal!
The info must be insanely old because Vizio would have be incredibly brain-dead to insist on shipping every big screen TV to SoCal. Here's their currently warranty info page that specifies onsite repairs:

http://www.vizio.com/support/v...ranty_information.aspx

Note I don't own a Vizio TV, so I can't speak for how good their customer service is. With the low prices, I suspect they aren't going to be spectacular.

I bought a Vizio 42" LCD for my living room about a month ago ($1,200.44 out the door at Costco).

I love it (especially for football).

Me and the wife have our 37 in our room and i think it is good. best thing to do is look at both at costco and see the size and then go home and see if it would fit well.

Just remember, have you ever heard anybody say "man my tv is just to big, i wish I got the smaller one..." ? :)

For a bedroom, yes. My buddy got a 37" for his bedroom and it takes up too much room. We have a fairly large master bedroom (18x22) and find a 22" LCD works great. Our 40" is in the family room.

I don't expect you would have a problem since the lower resolution is on the smaller screen. If your 37" was 1366x768, you might understand what we're saying.

I just installed a 43" plasma in the bedroom and frankly I wish it were a 50". It's a large bedroom though, about 700sf (we're about 20 feet from the TV).
