Those That Do Not Learn From Television History Are Doomed To Repeat It...

LAX

This show would probably not have come into existence if not for the events of 9/11. At the very least, it would have been delayed by a few more years. I give it two seasons at the most, the general viewing public is so brain-dead when it comes to their television viewing these days that it takes them hours to realize that "Survivor XIII: McDonald's Drive Through Of Death" has gone off the air and been replaced by a test pattern. Sadly, a similar show was attempted back in 1970.

San Francisco International

The pilot for a television series, it used every cliche you expect in a bad television pilot. The sad thing is, we will probably see most of the plot elements re-used in LAX before the first season is out. The only thing that made this movie bearable was watching it in its incarnation as Mystery Science Theater 3000's "Experiment #614." If you tried to watch it without Servo and Crow to break the monotony, your head would explode.

Unfortunately, there will be no such relief when watching LAX.

LAX will last all of a month.

Seriously, how many catastrophes can strike an airport before the plot starts repeating itself? Two?

Whether it's the ongoing power struggle between the Airfield Chief (Locklear) and the Terminal Manager (Blair Underwood, "L.A. Law"), the romantic misadventures of the Airline Supervisor Tony (Paul Leyden, "As the World Turns") or the trial-by-fire of a young, naive Immigration Office clerk Nick (David Paetkau, "Final Destination 2"), viewers will be pulled into this unique world. Then there are the passengers, loading, unloading and passing through each episode

wow that show will be awful. awful by a magnitude never before experienced by network tv. I don't even have words to describe the level of awfulness. power struggle between the airfield chief and the terminal manager? wow that will be riveting.

The promo for this plays over and over on NBC HD during the Olympic coverage.

It just looks worse and worse every time I see it.

You underestimate the power of network TV stupidity. Nothing could be dumber than "Cop Rock".

why should a show about "San Fran International" be any worse than your standard boring reality show about nothing ? See MTV and Fox and etcetera ? It CAN not be worse than some of these shows..and these shows often have a high amount of viewers...

I see thats just your personal preference speaking.

Not that i EVER watch TV (i DONT)...but i could see a show about LAX being more interesting than a show about two dumb blondes milking cows....
