I worked for a couple of months in a computer repair shop fixing customer computers. I usually didn't go poking around on their machines but its kinda hard not to notice all the pr0n when its right on the desktop! Gay, midget, hermaphrodite, transsexual, they had it all.

How can you not remember to erase something as basic as your browsing history? I do it everyday at work so they can't see what I do during the day. If they really wanted to see I'm sure they could but not having the browsing history helps.

Yeah your company policy of re-issuing laptops that have not been re-imaged is not up to par. Not only is it a security risk but also a legal risk as you were giving this other employee a machine with offensive and questionable materials on it. A lawsuit waiting to happen.
