Don't care. I'm only interested in the international version anyway. Cheaper data plans / prepaid. The only US release of the phone I'd like is for t-mobile. Not too interested in the size of the hercules.

As long as the international version drops below $600, I will be happy.

You can very nearly import the SGSii right now from Amazon for about $650. Only has 3G on ATT though.

He probably means all the AWESOME Verizon bloatware they will be blessing the phone with..

Dude, you don't use VCAST Apps? :p

Seriously, though, this is a downer. :( The SGS2 really looks like Samsung actually did something right.

Samsung did it to themselves. They have spent the last several years putting out half baked phones with major OS bugs and busted GPS. They either refused to fix them or took their sweet ass time getting the updates out. Naturally the carriers took the brunt of the complaints since that is where people bought the phone. I can understand them being apprehensive getting another major Samsung device after looking at their tech support bills on the previous Samsung devices.

Stop and think. The carriers and Samsung were more than happy to put out inferior Charge and Infuse recently to the public. You honestly believe the carriers are apprehensive about releasing what is sure to be blockbuster and most desired Android phone currently available because of tech support concern? Really? I guess people really do believe everything they read on the internet.

SGII is the most desired and wished Android phone. Samsung knows it. All the carriers know it. Unless both sides come to term very soon they may miss the window of opportunity in world's largest smartphone market.

Keep in mind, Samsung did release updates for various US Galaxy S models, it was the US carriers that sat on them for months at a time.

The international i9000 galaxy s got updates pretty frequently, almost evey week or two there was a new build out over at xda, the us carriers on the other hand fucked everything up and made samsung look bad by not releasing updates at all.

You answered your own question.

Yes, I do believe they will end the end release them. They would be crazy not too.

the lack of updates was not samsungs fault. that blame is all on ATT/VZW and the like

the GPS however was their fault
