those books that...

I'm wondering about some certain books I used to read back in the day... The books where it told you to flip to either page 213 or 142 depending on what you chose? Well, first question is - What is this genre called? THEN! My next question is, is there any books like these that revolve around mystery or the sort.

Thanks in advanced guys =)

yeah I love those books when I was a kid... too bad most of them are too short...

sorry can't help you with your question... I dont know what genre they are neither...

Yeah, I've asked like everyone I know, and no one was able to give me a definate answer, and I couldn't find a specific genre off of ebay to look for them =(!

I loved those back in 4th grade, bought a few of them and let one of my friends borrow them too. he could always figure them out on the 2nd or 3rd try, but I hardly got any of em 😱 I still liked them though 🙂

Those books KICKED ass.

I remember reading this one about space aliens....no.....massive mushrooms....well, basically every ending either got me killed or invaded by aliens. It was hilarious and I could put it down.

Yeah, I used to have the Mario brothers version of these types of books 😀

Been bored lately and wanted to make reading a little bit more involved then just... well reading and thought these types of books would do the trick, It seems like there arent any mysteries of that series, other than maybe one or two.

I think the "choose your own adventure" is just what the series was called, because there are others suchas the "endless quest" books by tsr that are similar to these.

Thanks for your help though, will have at least one book i'll fiddle around with for a while =)

Huh, I never got into those. Going to the pages they told you to took too long. I read them straight through like novels, and connected all the pieces in my head so I knew all the alternative endings.

Well that's no fun🙁

I remember writing a program in a fifth grade class that was a computerized choose-your-own adventure. Good old LOGO. 😀

They need interactive DVDs that do this. Sort of like a "Choose your own movie"..

Haha, those would be sweet. Imagine the production costs though.

I remember the Hardy Boys one, where you would try to solve crimes and stuff.
