Thoroughbred cooling problem

I installed a Thermalright SLK900A heatsink and a 92mm Fan on the processor. However, my Bios tells me that the temp is still running around 60C. I removed the heatsink, reapplied the grease that came with it... no luck. I flipped the fan around just to see... nothing.

My case has 4 80mm fans in it as well, so I can't understand why it's running so hot. I was really hoping that I would be able to overclock the processor with this heatsink/fan.

Any insight or recommendations would be great.

Firstly, your motherboard is one of two on the market that actually reports real CPU temperatures instead of candy-coated ones. 60C is not a problem necessarily when it's a true reading. Accept the fact that your motherboard is different from almost every other model on the market. 🙂

Yeah, it would be nice if you could get it closer to 50C on that board with such a nice heatsink, so check out my Thermalright-specific tips that could help you ensure that it's not just making poor contact. Look here and see if that changes anything.
