The TeAm might not get invited to week 4 ( = top-10 of week 3). But it still may get invited to week 5 'pure' ( = noncommercial top-20 of weeks 1...3 combined).

I haven't taken part myself yet. Today after work, I'll look into adding an 8-thread laptop. I need to cap its core clocks, otherwise it will crash.
 
I put another 20 cpu on last night. I’m tapped out of hardware now, outside of a sketchy 10 year old laptop. Can someone tell AMD to hurry up with Zen 3? I would really like to upgrade the 2700x to a 5950x and the a10-7870k to a 5900

I haven't taken part myself yet. Today after work, I'll look into adding an 8-thread laptop. I need to cap its core clocks, otherwise it will crash.

I have cores, but not any spare cores at this time.

I'll run WCG in November during the Birthday Challenge. (And I need to "warm up" my boinc clients at WCG at some time before the Birthday challenge, to get them accepted as reliable hosts for the full quota of tasks in progress. But the team challenge calendar is so tight that I haven't taken the time for this yet.)

I couldn't find the correct power supply for mine 😀 - it's a Dell, but I did have a lower wattage power supply that fit. It's running, but I think the way it works it will downlclock as necessary to not overload the power supply. Either way, it was 8 threads added. I was able to reactivate an 8 core Android phone and a 4 core Nvidia Shield, add another lower end PC, etc., as well so I'm basically at my max of 'spare' cores.

Well, there's a nice trend in our ranking. 🙂 I don't think it will take us to the top 10, though.
 
Well, we are up to number 14 and doing OK. But if anyone cares about winning this, we need a bunch more cores.

And I just mean the top 10. We are totally out og it for 1-8 maybe even 9.
 
Well, we lost a place today. We were 14th and now we are back to 15th. I can't do this by myself, I need a few hundred more cores. I only have 700
 
Well, now we are down to 16th . Does nobody care to add cores ? Should I give up and go back to Rosetta ?

We're pretty much a lock to get into the Thor Pure challenge - the only team in this round that isn't in that challenge is Brazil. At this point it doesn't look like we're getting top 10 either. I've mostly switched to NumberFields.

So...maybe so?

Keep with it. I’ve got 11 hosts on WCG now, including my largest host, which is almost everything I’ve got. Looks like we should qualify for the final round, though my pis won’t be much help there.

Next year I should hopefully be a little more help, but even with the power of zen 3 I think I’ll still be a pretty small fish in the pond.
 
I've currently got no mo to add..

When zen 3 launches I'll likely have new a 12 or 16 core to add. Don't think I will wait for a new Ripper.

These room heaters add up even in the fall and spring 🙂
 
I am trying to get another 7742, but their price has gone up. The cheapest ES is now $2450 !

Unless you want a 1.4 ghz chip, and you are better off with a good 32 core then.
 
You are our aircraft carrier, @Markfw, and our harbour during a storm, our anchorage point. But some of us have to venture out and chase down the subs and surface vessels trying to sink us! 🙂
