This year's game releases suck so far

The only 2 games worth looking forward to, for me at least, are:

Ghostbusters
FF 13

I had high hopes for Guitar Hero Metallica but the set list absolutely sucks. They are going for a multi title release and it has doomed the first release. They aren't known for their new stuff so why in the hell would I want to pay $60 to play it?
 
This is how I felt at the beginning of 2008. I couldn't foresee more than two or three games I wanted. Then as the release dates grew closer I got caught up in the hype train and ended up buying close to 15, most of which I liked.

I just don't see how this year could top:

Fable 2
Fallout 3
GTA 4
Rockband 2
CoD World at War
GH World Tour
Gears of War 2
Left 4 Dead
etc.

Best damn year ever.

EDIT: I just noticed every game I listed sans Left4Dead was a sequel.
 
I'm tentatively looking forward to:
This is Vegas (which will probably suck)
Battlestations: Pacific (which I hop e is as awesome as Battlestations: Midway, but a bit longer)

I also like a lot of the songs on GH: Metallica

Assassins Creed (I liked it)

God of War 2 (yup, that was early 2007 and it was a great game)

Isn't SC2 and DoW2 coming out this year? That's something to look forward to

And I'm sure there will be a few surprise releases down the line

Those are PC games. This is console forums.
 
Killzone 2, SF4, RE5 are the ones on my short list. Over half of the games coming out during the holiday season haven't even been announced yet, so claiming this year will suck 3 days in is naive at best.
 
Looking forward to RE5, SF4, FFXIII, FFXIII Versus, White Knight Chronicles, Heavy Rain, God of War III, and Infamous.
 
Im looking forward to the new UFC 2009 game.... just because im a huge fan of mma. It will be intesting how they jam so much into a controller (grappling aspect, etc)

You may as well pare that down to "Ghostbusters" - FF13 isn't coming out this year, I can almost guarantee it.

Nintendo first party doesn't announce their stuff very early. I bet we get a Zelda this year

Also if Mass Effect 2 comes out this year it jumps to my 2nd most anticipated after SF4.

Blaze Blu will be up there if it is released for consoles this year.
