This whole XBOX 360 thing is getting out of hand.

Jeebus H Cripes. I should've bought a few of these and eBayed them. Could pay off some debts and still have some left over for Xmas gifts.

The real auctions for Premium systems are around $800-$1,100. Don't be fooled by those other auctions.

Anyone who actually believes someone is going to pay $2k for an Xbox 360 is nuts. There is nothing that justifies paying triple of the retail price.

And they say PC gaming is too expensive.

As for people selling them on ebay, I say all power to them. A fool and his money are soon parted.

This looks legit? I don't buy/sell on ebay, so I obviously am missing something.

on ebay, you set your max price, when the next person bids, it automatically increases your bid, reflecting multiple bids on your part. $990 was that guys max bid.

no, if it shows multiple bids then that person manually bid multiple times. if ebay bumps your bid up automatically it won't show multiple bids.

I'm not familiar with the term shill bidding. I used to go bid on items and I had a set maximum of say $20. If I was automaticaly outbid at that point I'd walk away. I know it screwed the buyer a little, but hey...thats the max I wanted to pay.

I wanna slap the buyers' face and tell him to WAIT a few months and buy one for $400 USD and have the REST $2600 to GO TO CHARITY instead of some ebay freak

well think of how much would go to charity if much of california's hotter house markets sold off and went to live in sh*tholes like alabama?

Xbox360 . Can the cpu or the dsp chip be upgraded ? No ? So whats the deal here . A proprietary mobo with the same said cpu/dsp chips with no upgrade path . They should be $200 by spring .

No what you see is a person wont get it untill the marketing frenzy has subsided.
Granted it has good internals, but the entrance price is but the tip of the ice berg with $59+ games that cannot be "shared" . Several K to play games ?

I'd say the initial price is too steep for me too, but the game prices are reasonable. They will come down $20 or so within 4 months. That's not that bad. I remember being in grade 6 and saving up upwards of $100 for some of the NES games. SNES games were $80-100 too.

quite the understatement

What are you guys talking about? All I see is an unsold Xbox for 100$. What's the profit?

ya. please enlighten the ignorant.

That's nothing, you should see what Neo Geo fans are willing to pay. 2-3 grand on an original AES Metal Slug cart, $2-300 average price for any other AES cart. $7-800 on the new Atomiswave and $500 for some carts. Keep in mind these are all 2D games too.

Rather than pick up a console port they pay for actual arcade parts, which have extremely inflated prices because they're sold for other people to make money off of, and keep em for personal use.
