What about Virginia Tech vs. Duke? Now that Duke thinks it can be competitive in the ACC after being one blocked field goal away from beating Wake Forrest;)

Hoping that USC dies a slow and horrible death

Umm...Duke sucks.

It was a joke....hence the winking face

I think they dropped in the rankings becasue their defense got owned (they never punted and still only won by 1), and then they lost 2 starters. So now their defense is a huge question mark after being the only bright spot from last year. I bet yall wish you could have Ainge and Meachem playing like this last year when the D line wasn't so porus, then you wouldn't be losing to the likes of Vandy :p.

EDIT: oh yeah, Duke totally sucks, I already have that game chalked up as a win. And I only have us (Vandy) winning at most 3 games this year.

I don't ever remember having this many top 25 teams play each other this early in the season. That is a wonderful sign for college football. Teams now are at least willing to schedule non-cupcakes in the non-conference games.

I'm excited to see the Michigan/ND game and the Nebraska/USC game. If either of those ends up being a blowout, there will be plenty of other interesting games to watch.

Here are my wishes for the top 25 matchups (note, this isn't a pick of who I think WILL win, it is who I want to win):
[*]Michigan beats ND
[*]Auburn beats LSU
[*]Louisville beats Miami
[*]Oregon beats Oklahoma
[*]TCU vs Texas Tech is a toss-up for me.
[*]USC beats Nebraska
[*]Florida beats Tennessee
My wishes are generally based on my joy of rooting against the team with the fanboys who are least likely to listen to reason.

Now since I seem to be happy with the football results 10%-20% of the time, that list above should be basically the exact opposite of what really will happen.

Bad seasons happen to everyone and the great thing about our situation is that it allowed for the firing of Sanders and the rehire of Cutcliffe. Win.

The rehiring of Cutcliff was a major boon for UT. Now if you guys could get rid of the Krispy Kreme spokesman on your sideline ;)

Yet another fat joke, originality abounds from the plains.

And at least an undefeated season (or 2) gets most teams a NC.

I have to admit I was not that high on getting Cut back but it appears to be working. I think being a HC changed his way of thinking.

As a Penn State fan, as much as it pains me to say, ill be rooting for Michigan this weekend. The only chance we have of jumping back in a good spot in the rankings is by beating Ohio State and Michigan, and it will make michigan alot better to beat Notre Dame.

(not that i'm saying we arent gonna get anally raped by OSU next weekend)

ND's offense came to life against Penn State last week, and I think Rhema Mcknight will be one of the top 5 recievers in college football at the end of the year.

ND's defense has been good all year. PSU got two 2-minute drill type of touchdowns late, but after the defense had basically neutered them. Once thought the weakness on the team, ND's defense has more speed and depth.

Michigan will be the toughest test this year for the Irish. Michigan comes in sporting a ridiculous running game featuring several good backs. Henne has been passable this year but needs to complete a higher percentage of passes against the Irish. ND has a stout run defense and the possibility exists that this could become a one-dimensional attack for Michigan.

Michigan's defense is led by two bookend DE's with the following lines:

Rondell Biggs 8 tackles, 5TFL, 3 sacks
LaMar Woodley 8 tackles, 5 TFL, 4 sacks for 55 yards!

The Michigan D line will challenge the ND offense, and fortunately for the Irish they have a very experience line. However, ND has a 6'-8" freshman playing a lot of RT and this could be the area Michigan attacks with their pass rush. Michigan has a decent secondary but with only 1 pick in 2 games, it will not be enough to hold ND's receiving corps in check.

Add to the fact that the game is in South Bend, and the final score is ND 27, Michigan 21.
