Why would you say SC doesn't deserve the 1 spot? They just won a tough road game.
 
Why does Texas deserve the #1 spot over SC? They both beat a top ten team on the road in a close game...the rest of the games haven't been close.
 
I don't know if "gritty" is the word I would use to describe UCLA tonight. It shouldn't have ever been that close, the same with the UW game.

Another "-itty" word springs to mind.

As long as they keep winning they'll stay #1. Nobody ever gets dropped from the 1-spot because they didn't get high style points in a win. If anything, all of USC's comebacks probably make them look better in many voter's eyes.

as a bruin alum... i'd still say we play like crap until the fourth quarter rolls around, and then the grit shows up. i was so mad the first three quarters, and extremely irritated we let them jump out to that lead. our defense needs to get it together.
