Yeah it's hard to find a decent non minimum wage job now days without being some PHD super expert at something. Definitely would not complain. I make 34/hour so definitely not complaining about my job either. I always worry the job goes away because it technically easily could be automated or moved, but I will ride the gravy train for as long as I can. I really do need to find more ways to reduce my costs of living though as I should be saving way more than I am, especially considering the kind of money I'm making.

Just got word a spot is opening on the day shift and I applied for it.
Nights are terrible for me. Actually they're terrible for everybody, but especially me.

I eventually had to give up a job I loved because the semi regular nights, weekends, and being on-call got to be to much.

On-call sucks worse. you have no idea when you'll be pulled back in.
The only good thing about my job is I cant possibly take it home with me, and they will never need me for emergency alarm watching.

I would hate being on call, especially if it's 24/7 and not on a rotation. You literally can never leave town or drink alcohol. Not that I do those things very often, but just the idea of knowing I can't at all. You also can't really plan things without those plans possibly being kyboshed by you having to go in to work.

I learned the civilian equivelent to Gun-decking is called Pencil-whipping.

Unrelated: A buddy of mine came dangerously close to termination because he pencil-whipped something yesterday.
