terrible article and should be taken down. its dangerouse in fact.

Make sure your mirrors and bar-ends will clear van, truck and car mirrors. It's not a major deal when they connect, usually just a loud clacking noise, but it is embarrassing. Other drivers may not like you just for lane-splitting, but tapping their mirrors out of adjustment makes it worse.

great that's hit and run. its not a TAP it can and does break them.

You have no qualms about creating a couple of hundred $$ of damage to a vehicle.

Yet if someone were to knock off a mirror from your bike, different attitude would surface I expect.

See, the trick is to get a big downward sweep with your arm as near to the point where the mirror attaches and it breaks right off.
