Who cares. If you want to say Christmas; say Christmas. It's a holiday based about Christ, changing the name is just absurd.

I still call it Christmas holidays even though I'm not Christian. It doesn't bother me what anyone else calls it.

Why should it offend anyone? I don't see any Jews offended because this isn't called the Hannukah Season.

Seriously, this is a great example of making an issue out of nothing. Way too many people are looking for reasons to be offended nowadays.

it annoys me but i have found myself saying "happy holidays" to customers as I see them all day because i am not sure who, if anyone i could be offending by saying christmas.

The only time i will say Merry Christmas is if they say it to me first.

Outside of work, I say merry christmas all the time.

I think that's is silly, all the fuss that's being made over it. I think that the name should remain Christmas.

Bet you would be mildly offended if it was Allahmas.
Just get over it. Christmas is a western Christianity holiday. Other religions celebrate a holiday this time of year.
Calling something a Winter Holiday is not uptight political.
It is the acknowledgment of the fact that 90% of the world is not Christian.

The entire egotistical Christian society gets on my nerves.

I think it's a small step forward. You need to break a few eggs to make an omelette, of course, so it'll leave some feeling sour. This newfangled "science" thing got much the same reception many centuries back.

Bah, nothing but a conjured up war against Christmas by the Fund A Mental Cases looking to get their flock all riled up and that sh!tbag O'Riely looking for a boost in his rating catering to the same simple minded sheep.

It makes me mad that people think they have a right to complain about being told "Merry Christmas" :|

If you live in what at least was a predominantly Christian country, that is to be expected.

If you moved from another country to here & think you have a right to complain, you need to move back to wherever you came from.

That little phrase is neither offensive nor overly religious...

When this particular day became a federally recognized holiday, it should have been made to include other religions that Americans practice. A federally recognized Christian holiday is silly.

Not quite 90%

As "egotistical" as those pesky Christains seem to be, idiot know-nothings who spew pure, unadulterated sh1t that flies in the face of known statistics are even more annoying, wouldn't you agree? :)

Well, considering Christmas has lost almost all of it's religious conotations to the general public, I really don't think anyone should be offended by it.

Many people who don't have faith in Christ celebrate Christmas. Being offended at Christmas in this day and age is along the lines of being offended by the 4th of July (Independence Day)

merry fscking christmas! :|

considering that much of the world is adopting christmas as a secular holiday (see: all of east asia), we're going to look silly when we're correcting them

It must be so horribly painful for you to say "Happy Holidays" in recognition of the fact that not everyone celebrates christmas

I agree that it is kinda annoying that the name gets changed, just because I've always known Christmas as Christmas, and "the holidays" as the whole time from Thanksgiving until New Years. It is just a matter of the politically correct phrasing machine getting way too weird on us. It certainly isn't being done out of recognition of other religions, it is simply the "nice" way of saying it.
