So we know of 4 dimensions: 3 of space and 1 of time.

We can move freely in any of the 3 dimensions: backwards, forward, sideways. We can look ahead in any spatial dimension. We know what's 10 feet ahead of us without actually being there.

The problem is that time is different. Time is linear, and we can only move forwards in time. We cannot see what's ahead in time. In other words, we cannot see the future, or the past. Time is forced upon us. But maybe there is someone out there who can move freely in time just like we can move freely in space. Maybe that someone can see the whole future of our existence in the blink of an eye. That would mean that time is already defined and there would not be an option of free will, since everything we do is already written in the dimension of time. That someone can move forwards and backwards in time. That someone can look into the future or into the past.

I wish I could sticky this comment at the top of the fourm. This is nearly verbatim what I just wrote to another poster via PM.

We've asked Arcadio to cut the "h" thing. If he does it we'll lock the thread.

In return, if it's a thread that is legitimate, PLEASE keep it on topic and don't drag it into the gutter with insults, calls for bans and responding with letters missing in your posts.

Trolls post for attention. Good or bad. Stop the attention and they typically stop the trolling.

Previous thread gets locked, you start the same one?

Well to be fair he didn't put any apostrophes in this one.

That's true, I was really wanting to h spam this thread to throw off the formatting too, oh well.

One day effowe, he will slip up and get perma-banned.

That night we will throw an ATOT PARTAY!!!!!

Can we not see the waffles and cakes and pies of the past and improve on them for the future?

It's a test to see if doing the same thing over and over will yield a different result.

Arcadio is so interesting... On the one hand, he posts topics that are actually interesting to consider (sometimes). On the other, he intentionally performs an action he knows pisses people off and he has been personally warned about by the moderators. My guess is that there's some level of social retardation in terms of his posting, since if he simply stopped performing the aforemention action that pisses people off, he would not be among the most reviled members of this board. Something to consider...

As to the matter at hand: time is not linear. Time is an illusion, a filter in our brains to compensate for our inability to perceive every possible reality simultaenously. How's that for spooky cosmic shit?

We don't know that. And time is really a dimension, so a scenario like the one I posed is theoretically possible.

It's not linear. It's more like a ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff.
