this the right choices?

I want to upgrade my existing 2.4ghz Intel system but I have been out of the loop, hardware wise, for quite some time and have no idea if what I want is what I need.
I mostly game with my PC and do not intend to bother overclocking it. Playing Oblivion is my short term goal for the thing.

Anyways, this is what I was thinking:

Keep my GeForce 6800 video card (AGP)

Buy:
Athlon64 X2 4400+
ASRock 939Dual-SATA2
2Gig Ram

Would it be worth scrapping the card and getting a PCI-e one and then get a better mobo? I got a fair budget but don't want to spend on anything that is not going to give me a fair gain in performance.

I say this as I have been reading as many posts on the asrock as I can and it seems a fair amount of people are having issues with the agp.

Don't need a 4400+ for gaming; just get a 3800+

Save $$, get a 3800+ and use the money to get a 7900GT. Sell your 6800 AGP, it's not future-friendly. Also for the mobo get an EPoX 9NPA+ Ultra; it's a great mobo and has great OCing potential if you ever decide to OC in the future. At around $100, it's a good deal. Also, get a good PSU to support your parts, such as a 400W+ Fortron.

do NOT upgrade to agp. upgrade to pciE. 4400 is a good choice if you have extra money to go, but from the looks of it you dont as you're buying the low end asrock mb with lots of problems. just search these forums and you'll see how bad they are. if u have no more money lower the cpu to 3800 for that extra 100 or so? get an asus a8n sli premium and chip in for the video card u can afford after u sell the 6800. ati or nvidia up to you
