I have to throw this together really quickly, I don't have time for much research and thought.

go with a light-on burner as you can probably get a 40x for the same price as a plextor 12x and why not go DDR ram as the prices are pretty much the same.
 
Why not just go retail if you aren't going to OC and you will get the 3 year warranty...

gnef: I'm on a very low budget. The retail is more expensive, and I happen to already have the HSF laying around.

I hit the checkout button at Newegg a month ago but my $500 a day limit on the card 'saved me' from spending $621. 😕
