I liked Reign of Fire too...🙂 I gave it a strong 3.5/5, leaning very close to the 4. I will buy the DVD for sure.

is there a calculation of how much is made in video/dvd sale/rentals? always wondered how much is recooped then.

Not as much earning potential as box office I think. Profits aren't quite as high with all the middle-men. I can't find any numbers for sales, but last week where LOTR was the number one rental, it brought in about $6 million in rental profits that week. I imagine the sales profits would be in the 100 million range about now, but that is a wild guess.

Stuart Little 2 - $160m - $50.3m

Big ouch.:Q 109.7m down the drain. That's even worse than Widowmaker.

Do those movies REALLY lose any money? I mean, those figures are their earning from USA alone. Then you add in the money from international showings, sales to TV-channels, rentals...

exactly...don't international sales usually match domestic, then figure in rentals sales..

I'm glad "Like Mike" failed. Sucks The Crocodile Hunter didn't make profits cause all profits were supposed to go to help animals. thats a lot of lost millions there.

Stuart Little 2 cost 160 million to make? WTH? I think most of it was in advertising. Sheesh, you can't get away from
those annoying commercials if you try.

cost of sequels is always higher😛 more cg this time i think. sad part is this one is supposedly better then the first movie.

reign of fire was good.

I bet Austin powers III makes up for all those losses combined. But that doesnt help the poor guys that invested in the bombs haha.

It looks like that new Eddie Murphy movie will flop too.

yep, adventures of pluto nash cost like 80-90 million, but made less than 2 million on opening weekend

Too many bad movies...hell, too many moves altogether. Most movies arent in the theater for more than 2 weeks nowadays. 10 years ago, if a movie was in the theater for only 3 weeks, it sucked. Geez...
