Have you tried upgrading the drivers? Is the PCI card fully seated? Is the PCI card away from other devices? I've heard that placing a sound card under, say, a video card with a fan, will add noise to the sound output.
You might also try upgrading to new, higher-quality speaker wire.
This site tested the speakers using SW:E1 and says that from "the opening sequence to the closing parade, the Z-560's were flawless, even at extreme volume levels. The bass was incredible, booming from under the desk in ways I had only previously heard in home theater systems. The satellites provided very crisp, clear highs, and smooth midrange, with no detectable distortion or hissing."
I've read that the Logitech z-680s, the set I want to upgrade to, have hissing on some models and that by getting a control pod fix from Logitech will stop that...I don't know if that's applicable or not on this model, however.
