I was 35% done and was over 20 hours into the game.

During a mission in the game where I had to disguise myself as a Bulgarian, I went to order food to get my health back up because of a bad motorcycle crash. When I tried to order food, I lost complete control of my character. I could press start to get to the menu, but could do nothing with Niko ? he just stood there. I checked for a load file. I saw two. One was from yesterday and the other was from an hour ago. This made me confused about where the autosave feature kept the saved game. Because I thought the only way to load an autosave was from restarting the game, I quit the game. While I was in the PS3 menus, I decided to delete the other saves so it would be less confusing later. But before I did, I made sure there was another saved file from GTA4, and it was called Profile. I thought this might have been it so I deleted the other two and started the game. It wasn't.

It turns out the PS3 has Daylight Savings time set to Standard and that?s why the last save was an hour behind. I?m not going to redo those 20 hours just to find out what happens because the missions aren?t fun enough, but I'm still going to review what I've played, which I think is about half the game.

FIXED!

My brother let me borrow his PS3 and now I can finish GTA4. He's not that far off from where I was being @ 30% and over 13 hours of play time.

Thanx to those who tried to help.

We've already got the jist from your Gamespot thread, you think it's overrated. BFD. Spend the time more productively playing something else.

Sounds interesting. I have no clue how I'm going to do that but if my brother has still has his PS3 save... saved, then maybe I won't have to redo so many missions.

What does this have to do with the topic? :disgust:

I still don't understand why you are putting so much effort in playing a game you don't think is very good, I'm not sure if you are getting paid for your reviews or whatever but even though it might sound harsh (and don't take it personally) it's not like your reviews are good enough to have any kind of demand to ensure playing a crummy game to get them out...

Anyways, whatever the reason is, I'm glad you found a way to solve your problem.

No way. His reviews are weeks and sometimes months after a release.

You could have just copied his save to a flash drive and used that to transfer it to your PS3..

Because I write reviews to give people another perspective on a game doesn't mean that I stopped being a gamer. I play games because I have fun. This game isn't the greatest thing since GTAIII, but it's not a bad game. I want to see how it ends. Not only am I curious to finish it because of all the 10s, I also never leave a game unfinished unless it sucks real bad.

I have the 40GB PS3, which doesn't have any flash drive slots.

Flash Drives = USB Drives

Your 40GB PS3 has two USB ports and you can get a 1GB USB flash drive for well under $15 at the right store these days.
