this story gave me the creeps

9/10 on the scale, for sure.

although I'm not sure if creepy or sad would be the correct adjective.

i feel horrible for the mother.

i can't even imagine the pain she is in.

her child probably loved the swing and she had some of her happiness moments with him/her on the swings.

what a terrible thing to have to endure.

Ultimately I predict the creepy will not be found, but the sad as hell will.

really weird story.

How can a witness say at 7 am that she was there for several hours? He was there the whole night?

Fuck man. That is some of the saddest shit I've ever read.

Even worse, the father was concerned and trying to get possession of the child:

Just weeks before Ji’Aire was found dead, Lee, 29, petitioned for custody of Ji’Aire in D.C. Superior Court, writing that he was “concerned for my child’s safety and well being.” In her written response, Romechia Simms acknowledged that she’d had a breakdown but said that she’d recovered. “I am now in a much better productive space,” she wrote in April and also stated, “I have done everything in my power since moving from D.C. to ensure that my son has the best life that he can have.”

Just goes to show you people can feign sanity just by mimicking what sane people would say. The father knew something was wrong with her and should have been given full custody.

But he was a male so he isn't trusted. He must be a deadbeat piece of shit, am i rite non-sexist, non-homophobe, and non-judgemental court?

This one definitely goes up to eleven on the crazy scale.

Says in the next paragraph that he later agreed to joint custody as she seemed to be getting better. Seems like a big fat failure for all involved. Kids shouldn't be left in the care of mentally ill people with a history of endangerment.
