This State of Oregon van driver almost killed me..

I was cruising along in the right lane minidng my own goddamn business. This white State of Oregon van in the left lane creeped into my lane, so I laid on my horn, but he continues to creep into my lane. He forced me into the shoulder and completed the lane change as if nothing went wrong.

RANT: I hate stupid drivers!

That is never *ever* an excuse. Think about it. You're driving a 2000 lb (much MUCH more for a VAN) vehicle at x miles per hour. The faster you go, the more kinetic energy you'll "transfer" to anything you touch. If you're going to take the responsibility to get behind the wheel at all, you'd damn well better be fully prepared to do it responsibly or not get into the vehicle in the first place -ESPECIALLY a State of Oregon employee.

It's part of the new scam, van driver stops. you stop and start yelling at dude. So van dude, says "I'm really sorry, but to make it up to you I've got these extra speakers in the back here. To make it up I'll sell them at cost to you."

Everyone should follow the rules of the road, at all times.

Unless your cop that actually get training to that shit.


Even said, I though my collision at ~25mph was bad....

Did you get the vehicle/license plate number? DAS has a system set up to report State employees driving unsafely.

That's BS. Even law enforcement have to abide by the law. As an example, Oregon state law mandates that even in extreme emergency situations, law enforcement officers are not to exceed 15 MPH above the posted speed limit and there is no exception.

That being said, I've seen cops speeding MUCH faster than that. There were rubber marks on the pavement coming out of the police station when a carbomb went off a block from my house in the middle of the night several years ago. :roll:

Yeah, I'm glad he did but I doubt the state employee will lose their job. Last I heard, it looked like that MAX train driver who ran through a signal light right into a Hillsboro fire engine (injuring several and leading to a house to burn to the ground) is gonna get his job back, if you can believe that.

The City of Hillsboro even put up a light at the intersection. Max trains now speed around everywhere like usual in that neighborhood, but they're required to slow WAY down, blow their horn, and CREEP through that one intersection.

Way to go, guys. Logic and reasoning prevail yet again. :roll:
