Was Executive Decision that bad not to be included?

Not sure why it never gets any love either. Steven Seagal DIES early in it, Halle Berry looks young and fine, and John Leguizamo does enough where he's not that annoying. Great movie that networks like TBS and USA like to play during the weekend a lot still.

I,ve seen The Thing several times over the years but watched it about 2 months ago after not seeing it for a long, long time. The thing😛 that struck me was how well the special effects held up for a movie made in 1982. Awesome movie.

Yeah real props and real world special effects are still much better than computer generated effects. The Terminator or Alien still give the best 'gritty' realistic atmospheres.

This......."I will kill them.." great sci-fi flick. Also a vote for "Used cars", funny and not shown enough on cable..no, I get "Duce Bigalo" 20 times instead...ugh.

I watched Big Trouble in Little China over the weekend. I don't even have a comment for it, 'cause I'm not even sure what I watched.... Although, I think the best part in the movie was:

"Well, are you going to kiss her goodbye!?"
"... Nope"

lolwut? 😱

Even my wife liked Big Trouble in Little China, despite the fact that when I started it she said "You're going to make me watch THIS?"

But... but... what did I watch? It felt more like an over-the-top, cheesy movie than anything... especially when the Chinese dude started battling the one guy and they spend half the time jumping at each other >_>. Then when he beats the guy... guy throws knife... horribly misses, bad guy throws back, good guy catches and just lodges it in his head. >_<

Perhaps there was simply too much "awesome" crammed into the movie for your brain to process in one sitting. Give it a few weeks, then watch it again.

Big Trouble In Little China is equally awesome though.

I need to watch Tombstone again.
After seeing a list of his movies, he does put out a lot of entertaining flicks. Nothings probably going to win an Oscar for best picture/actor/whatever, but they sure are fun to watch.

IIRC, it was puppetry by Rick Baker. That's why it looked so good, because it was real and done by pros.

I don't think I could watch it again without going crazy. I just don't think it's my kind of movie. I think I enjoyed watching Meet Dave more than I did Big Trouble in Little China.

Bah, I can't pick.

Movies I have enjoyed him in (in no particular order):
BTILC
Overboard
Tombstone
Stargate
Capt Ron

And his Disney years. I grew up watching Disney movies with him in them. It was kind of strange to see him as an adult star later, but he grew on me.

my favorite part of Big Trouble in Little China is near the end where Egg sneaks around and is in the floor above Jack. Jack says, "How'd you get up there?!" and Egg just replies, "waaaahhssn't easy!".

for some reason it cracks me up.

It's like I don't even know you any more 🙁

The Thing is a good movie. However, the best KURT RUSSELL movie without a doubt, is Big Trouble.

No contest 😉

"If I'm not back int he morning....call the president!"

Did anyone else like Breakdown? Thought it was good thriller...except the kind of tacked on car chase over the top ending was a bit much.

The guy didn't miss, Jack was the awesomeness with his reflexes, as foreshadowed by him catching the bottle at the beginning of the movie. Get with the program.

Anyway, Big Trouble and Captain Ron are my favs. "Guer, Gor, big difference"
