I've got the photo printer, the camera case, and just bought 2 Kingston 512MB CompactFlash cards for $70 (minus $30 in rebates if iI remember to send em in). What else do I need?

I have the Canon S500.

While its a nice camera it lacks important adjustments, main one being the lack of manual aparture size adjustments. And it doesn't have the fancy presets that other canon cameras have.

apart from that, its great.

if you'd like to see some of hte pictures i have taken wiht it, feel free to IM me.

I'm more of a point and shoot user, don't know much about cameras and adjustments. I've seen some pictures taken with this camera on steves-digicams.com, they look great

that's cool then. It's a great size and very nice battery life as well.

about how many shots on average could you take without recharging the battery? Also, did you buy a spare battery for this or you just have the one that came with it?

i do not have a spare battery. While I haven't really counted how many shots I can take on a full battery, I do know its a lot. Its exceeded my expectations in that sense.

Only problem is that the camera doesn't have a battery indicator..it only flashes a low battery sign when its low..but there's no gauge of battery life.
