This really sucks. :(

only 95% got the month and day right? thats disgusting.... i didn't even experience Pearl Harbor and I can tell the month and day perfectly. year, it depends on the day because I can blank out.
not sure if I'll ever forgot 9/11/01 though.. implanted into my memory..

i blame old people:

from the article:
This memory black hole is essentially the problem of the older crowd: 48 percent of those who did not know were between the ages of 55 and 64, and 47 percent were older than 65, according to the poll

lol, reminds me of this idiot radio talk show host that's on late at night. He was ranting about how stupid the average American is, and then asks a caller "In what year did the 7/11 attacks occur?".

yeah, old people can get away with not remembering 9/11. Hell they usually cant even remember where they live.

But the OP on the other hand...is just a fvcking moron

Well, with so many 7/11s around here, its always on my mind. 7/11 also happens to have the cheapest gas out of anywhere around where i live. Its weird how they can keep their prices sooo low.

Yes I know!!! I just thought for a while it was 2002 probably because it was an even number or something like that. I hang my head in shame. 🙁

i'm not surprised at all.

One of the questions I was asked for Boys State in High School was who the governor of my state was. Of course I knew the answer and they accused me of getting the answer from the last guy that was in there
Talk about insulting. Who doesn't know the governor of their own damn state

I would have actually expected them to be in the minority and younger people to not know.

So only 5% were under 55? Hah. I don't ever want to hear and old person complaining about younger people again.
