What were you saying about passive agressive Mr. Vito?

There's a difference between sarcasm and passive-aggressiveness. You don't dare snipe at me, so you snipe at my profession, regardless of the fact that I elect to serve my country out of patriotism, hardly the mark of a greedy, mercenary attorney (though you've already said you think that's the only kind there is).

You are an angry, frustrated creep with no convictions. I have no problem with saying that. If I get banned, que sera sera.

Well, you won't get banned.. and I think we all know why that is.. My two bannings have come for saying much less worse statements about people than you just did..

Like when you said the only good lawyer is a lawyer with his head chopped off? RIGHT AFTER TWO AMERICANS HAD THEIR HEADS CHOPPED OFF IN IRAQ?

STFU.. do you ever reflect on the sht you type?

Want me to show you about 2000 Google hits for Lawyer jokes, many of which include the reference to dead or otherwise seriously injured lawyers being the best lawyers? Its a very common joke.. get over it.. it has nothing to do with Iraq. There have been dead lawyer jokes since the beginning of time. Try again please.

Uh, was there a question in there somewhere? I don't remember one. As for the topic of this thread, I regard Tom DeLay as the 21st-century's iteration of the old Chicago political machine. I have already written my senators and congressperson to ask for the appointment of an independent counsel to investigate his shenanigans, which I consider as among the most harmful instances of fundraising sleaze in American history.

To me this has nothing to do with partisanism, and I am every bit as disgusted by Democrats soliciting graft as I am Republicans. I find it entertaining that you regard me as such a liberal because I oppose neoconservatism - I may not be as liberal as you think.

Again, your lost-puppy fascination with me remains flattering. I'm not at all homophobic - I had several men hit on me when I was in law school in SF - I politely declined, as I will this time.

I've only asked it like 4 times.. nevermind.. I'm tired.

In rereading the thread, I still fail to see a question directed toward me or anyone else. If you're asking why I mentioned serving in the military, I brought it up only to refute your categorical statement that ALL lawyers work only in pursuit of personal gain - that just isn't true. If you're asking something else, well, in the immortal words of GWB, bring it on!

It seems to me you just want to pick, pick, pick, and you're not adding anything at all to the topic, which is why I take it as a personal stalking.

I agree that DeLay should be kicked out of politics and possibly jailed. He's done a lot of underhanded crap for quite a while.

He seems to have some fans here. I wonder if any of them would care to enumerate his virtues?

Trafficant is doing hard time for doing just a fraction of what DeLay has done.

I see at least 3 FELONIES that have been orchesrtated by DeLay.

If any of Clintons Cabinet had done even one thing that DeLay has,
they would be doing Solitary in the Big House, or have had Leathal Injection by now.

This is a Treasonous offense - coercion (Sp ?) and bribery of a Government Offical and more.

The committee said there was a "significant gap" between the Westar allegations ? accusing DeLay of actually soliciting contributions in return for legislative favors ? and the panel's findings.

What's your problem? Did I miss something?

Did anyone actually read the article:?

They called an investigation of alleged improper Westar contributions for Legislative favors and the report states:

"The information we obtained indicates that neither Representative DeLay nor anyone acting on his behalf improperly solicited contributions from Westar, and Representative DeLay took no action with regard to Westar that would constitute an impermissible special favor," the report said.

However, the committee said the golf fund-raising event "created the appearance of impropriety."

Seems a far cry from the demagoguery name calling that is passing for discussion here:

Just my 2 cents

I watched the piece on PBS online. It strikes me as a political hatchet job on Tom Delay. . .

Also you'l notice that nothing has been proven and no charges against Delay have come out: When the charges and indictments are layed out and He is convicted (As you know we are innocent in the United States of America until proven guilty) then we will all stand together and condemn any illegalities that may or may not have taken place:

Again just my thoughts for now:

Where are all thse sub-100 neocons coming from?

My theory is one split-personality banned troll who wants to really get nasty once in a while but also wants more reasonable avatars too. The problem is he can't stay reasonable so as his avatars mature he begins to troll and flame until he has to start again.

A couple of his aides are presently under indictment, and it appears the grand jury is looking at Rep DeLay as well. The indictment couldn't come too soon for my liking.
