i received a faulty monitor. put it back in original box/padding and told seller to have fedex come pick it up. they agreed. I wrote in big bold permanent marker the From and TO addresses. Fedex came and picked it up last saturday and left a door tag # which was for the wrong item (my package was 80 lbs...package door tag referred to was 30 lbs). So anyways, Ive been calling the seller and asking them if they received the monitor back yet or not...they havent and we've been trying to figure out where the hell it is.

last night I get a call from a number I dont recognize (but local area code)

me: "hello"
him: "hi this is xxxx from fedex. Im the guy who originally dropped off the 80 lb package at your door 2 weeks ago. The same package is here in my truck. Im just calling you to make sure where this package is going cuz since its been loaded in my truck, its meant to be delivered to you, but on the package i see it says its FROM your address TO another address."
me: "yes its the same item, im returning it. its supposed to go back to original shipper. why is it back in your truck? some fedex guy came and picked it up last saturday"
him: "oh that was fedex home delivery. they mustve made a mistake in sorting. no problem, i will make sure it goes back to shipper tonight"

although it was smart of the guy to call me (i dunno how he got my cell #) it was a messup on fedex's part. and now im afraid that with all this handling, the monitor might break and i wont get a replacement/refund

wasn't that the reason you were returning it...it was broken?

well yes and no. I bought an used monitor that they refurbished to "like new condition". But when i got it, text was very blurry. So it wasnt like new and they agreed to replace it. But in their return/refund policies they say it wont be replaced if its broken due to improper packaging. now i packaged it the way it came, with all the oroginal packaging materials, but im afraid something still might happen with all this handling by fedex (we all know they drop packages...and what not)

Indianapolis is Eastern time but does not change to daylight savings time, and Memphis is central time. So the times listed are actually correct.

No wonder they made a mistake. You would have been better off going to a Fedex/Kinkos and printing off a new shipping label and having the company reimburse your expense. Or just have them mail you a prepaid shipping label.

Using the same packaging and just printing TO and FROM on the box with a marker is stupid.

yep. you're right. they are both -5 GMT at the moment. but it does explain the NJ to IN. The IN to TN is still magical though :)
