Just a general question then. When looking up 9800se's on newegg u see 128/256MB w 128/258bit cards. when i query 9600pro/xt I only see 128/256mb and 128 bit. Is the 9600pro/xt (which frm this thread appears as a better buy for the $$) only a 128 bit card?
From what I've read the higher core speed benefits by having a 256bit bus. Now wouldn't it stand to reason that a 9600xt w 128mb and 128 bit would be slower than a 128bm 256bit 9800se, or does clock speed play that much into the equation.
 
Its more than just gpu speed, its also memory speed and latency, the number of bits a processor can handle at once, the quality of build that goes into the card and probably many more factors such as the embedded bios of the card and the drivers that are being used. In addition the card must be set up properly to disperse the heat that is created by the gpu.
